*High performance liquid handling:

The high-precision dispensing tip, inert glass and Teflon® syringes provide improved accuracy and precision over manual pipetting systems. The device uses an intelligent pressure-based Liquid Level Sense (LLS) system that allows liquid droplets to remain without affecting performance. Rob™ has two modes for setting up qPCR reactions.

-One tip per replicate:

96-plate: 27 minutes (18 µl mix + 2 µl sample)

384-plate: 95 minutes (5 µl mix + 2 µl sample)

-OneDip™ technology is capable of subdividing the same sample volume to wells using only 1 tip, thus saving up to 65% on tip usage costs:

96-plate: 13 minutes (18 µl mix + 2 µl sample)

384-plate: 45 minutes (5 µl mix + 2 µl sample)

*Software features:

– qPCR set-up guide is a stepwise guide to design the protocol of qPCR experiment, optimize the use of reagents, several Master Mixes

– Serial dilution maximizes the accuracy of pipetting for serial dilution

– Sample normalization simply input two information, sample volume and concentration

*Liquid Level Sense (LLS):

Sample information can be entered using a handheld BC, imported from a file, or by manual data entry. The instrument automatically calculates the required reagent volume and pre-run reports can be easily accessed. The report lists all liquid divisions and can be saved or printed for quality purposes. The LLS system checks the volume while running. The user will be alerted if the required volume is low. Saved LLS data and complete reports on all fluid handling are automatically saved and can be accessed. A sample information file that can be used for qPCR or LIMS systems.

*Keep samples and reagents cold:

Samples, reagents, and reaction plates are kept cool in thick aluminum blocks. Just put them in the fridge before running. The three standard blocks include:

-One block for chemicals capable of holding 2 × 5.0 ml, 20 × 1.5 / 2.0 ml and 16 × 0.2 ml tubes.

-One block for samples for 32 × 1.5 / 2.0 ml tubes.

*Liquid Level Detection LLD:

It is essential to have in-process LLD and tip detection to verify processed protocols. There are two methods used to measure the liquid level heights. Either conductive or pressure based systems are used. The advantages of pressure based LLD are that all liquids can be detected and the system isn’t sensitive for static electricity. Conductive measurements require expensive conductive tips, is sensitive to static electricity but measures faster.
Rob™ uses a further developed pressure based LLD that has improved detection speed. The LLD system provides with better precision and sensitivity than needed.

Detection limit: Detects as low 3 µl in a 200 µl PCR tube.
Detection precision: ± 0.3 µl in a PCR tube with 20 µl volume.

*Wide operating surface for all protocols:

-Includes 12 positions including 11 for tip box or SBS holder and 1 for tip release.

– Tips can be collected in a bag or simply place the tip collection box under the tip slider for easy handling..

-The large working surface allows the setup of a qPCR reaction in a 384-well plate.

-Rob ™ is not limited to SBS crack but can be used with any crack shape.

-Polished aluminum surface makes it easy to clean and withstands most detergents.
