Introduction
Early Mortality Syndrome (EMS), also known as Acute Hepatopancreatic Necrosis Syndrome (AHPNS), is a disease that seriously affects the shrimp farming industry in Vietnam. The disease was first reported in China in 2009 and is thought to be caused by Vibrio parahaemolyticus that resides in the digestive tract of shrimp by a rather complex mechanism. Manifestations in the early stages are often not obvious: slow-growing, lethargy, decreased appetite, spinning on the water surface. After the first stage, shrimp die very quickly, only about 2-3 days after detecting the disease. Therefore, it is extremely necessary to detect and prevent the spread of diseases, in order to minimize the damage
” TopAQUA® AHPND/EMS PCR KIT is a test kit based on Real-time PCR method that allows fast and accurate detection of EMS agent in shrimp. The average time for EMS agent detection is 2 to 3 hours. The kit applies next-generation Hot Start Taq Polymerase technology and an optimized buffer system to improve performance, sensitivity and reaction time. In addition, during extraction or mixing, exogenous controls can be added to avoid false negatives and manipulation errors.”
