Introduction
Salmonella infection is an intestinal disease caused by the bacterium of the same name. Salmonella is a genus of rod-shaped Gram-negative bacteria of the family Enterobacteriaceae, one of the main causative agents of human food poisoning. Foods that are likely to be contaminated with Salmonella include chicken, eggs, fresh meats, vegetables, etc. Patients get infected from eating undercooked food, or raw food. The disease causes stomachache, diarrhea, and fever lasting from 4 -7 days. Although the impact of the disease is mild, it also causes inconvenience in daily life. Therefore, it is necessary to strictly control food quality to ensure consumers’ health. Although there are many methods to detect Salmonella in food, the real-time PCR method is the most widely used because of its high sensitivity and accuracy.
TopSPEC® Salmonella spp. qPCR KIT (SQB-102) is a test kit designed based on the Real-time PCR method that allows accurate quantification and rapid detection of Salmonella spp. in food and feed samples after proliferation. The average time for detection is 2 hours. The kit combines a new generation Taq Polymerase technology and a optimized buffer system with enhanced substances to improve efficiency and sensitivity of the reaction. In addition, during extraction or mixing, exogenous controls can be added to avoid false negatives and manipulation errors.
