Introduction
Yellowhead virus (YHV) is the causative agent of yellow head disease in shrimp. The virus is a virus with a single, rod-shaped, single-stranded RNA nucleus, belongs to the Nidovirales species, Ronaviridae family, Okavirus genus. The disease appears on black tiger shrimp, white shrimp, white shrimp, white shrimp, and many other types of shrimp in Vietnam, Thailand, India, etc. In Vietnam, shrimp are infected with the disease at the change of seasons, in coastal farming areas with high salinity. When infected, shrimp die very quickly within 3-5 days (mortality rate can be close to 100%) after the appearance of symptoms. Therefore, early detection of YHV will make handling easier and minimize economic loss.
” TopSPEC® YHV RT-qPCR KIT (SQS-212) is a test kit based on Real-time PCR method that allows fast and accurate detection of YHV agent in shrimp. The kit has the advantages of specificity, high sensitivity, endogenous control help ensure the extraction process or master mix. ”
