Introduction
Mycoplasmal pneumonia of swine (also referred to as enzootic pneumonia – EP) is a common, widely distributed disease that occurs throughout the year. It is restricted to swine and occurs in all major swine-raising countries. MPS often is more apparent in the chronic form on premises where there is continuous flow production and management, and where husbandry and environmental conditions are poor. MPS may cause fairly acute and severe disease in immunologically naïve pigs in age-segregated systems. It may affect pigs early after weaning when passive immunity has waned, but more commonly occurs in the grower and finisher stages. Currently, there are many different M.Hyo testing methods, but RT-PCR has the highest sensitivity and specificity, allowing early detection of M.Hyo agents present in the farm and in-time handling outbreaks, avoiding economic losses.
TopSPEC®Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae qPCR KIT is a test kit based on Real-time PCR method that allows accurate quantification and rapid detection of the causative agent of Babesiosis on whole blood samples. The average time for detection is 2 hours. The kit combines a new generation Taq Polymerase technology and an optimized buffer system with enhanced substances to improve the efficiency and sensitivity of the reaction. In addition, during extraction or mixing, exogenous controls can be added to avoid false negatives and manipulation errors.
