Introduction
Blue ear disease, known as PRRS (porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome), is a viral disease caused by the PRRS virus (PRRSV). Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome is characterised by abortion, premature birth and high piglet mortality in sows, as well as pneumonia and mortality in weaned piglets and meat pigs. PRRSV is a small, enveloped RNA virus. It contains a single-stranded, positive-sense, RNA genome with a size of approximately 15 kilobases. The virus grows, increases rapidly in number in macrophages, destroys and kills macrophage cells, and seriously damages the immune system of infected pigs, leading to secondary pathogens development. Therefore, early detection is extremely necessary.
TopSPEC® PRRSV RT-qPCR KIT is a test kit based on Real-time PCR method that allows accurate quantification and rapid detection of the causative agent of Babesiosis on whole blood samples. The average time for detection is 2 hours. The kit combines a new generation Taq Polymerase technology and an optimized buffer system with enhanced substances to improve the efficiency and sensitivity of the reaction. In addition, during extraction or mixing, exogenous controls can be added to avoid false negatives and manipulation errors.
